Since the onset of the pandemic, violence against healthcare workers has increased — and there is no sign it is receding. What we are seeing in hospitals and health systems is reflective of what we are seeing in our society. From verbal incivility to violent acts in our communities, that same behavior is spilling into hospitals. Protecting healthcare workers and addressing workplace violence remains a top priority for everyone in healthcare. No one should have to worry about their safety while at work, especially when caring for patients.

This Leadership Symposium will consist of three facilitated virtual panel discussions about workplace violence prevention efforts. The program will bring together health leaders from national organizations including the AONL, American Hospital Association, Institute for Health Improvement, American Nurses Association, International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety and others for a dialogue about one of the most important issues facing nurse leaders today.
